Battery Components Procurement Manager

Strategy & Sourcing :

●     Key Purchasing representative in cross-functional teams to ensure cross-functional alignment on quality, cost, delivery and time requirements pre SCPA

●     Act as the voice of the customer for input into the Strategic Commodity Dossiers (SCD) and Strategic Supplier Dossiers (SSD), and ensure relevant data is updated and understood.

●     Responsible for the execution of commodity and supplier strategy, and the effective operational relationships with each of the designated suppliers, ensuring that they adopt and follow the commodity strategy that delivers improved purchase operational performance.

●     Be responsible for or support analysis of regional RFQs (Request for Quotation). Deliver sourcing in line with policy and to agreed targets through GSP and deploying TCO/TVO (Total Cost of Ownership, Total Value Ownership) approach.

●     Provide input to GSP SBR meetings to ensure design decisions are made based on an accurate analysis of supply chain, product cost drivers and regional inputs

●     Lead supplier negotiations and contracting with the support of the Regional teams including legal and financial approval pre SCPA, also engaging specialist teams where appropriate e.g. Global Purchasing Finance (GPF)

●     Work with the Capacity Planning Team (CPT) to ensure sufficient capacity at nomination and manage strategic capacity changes and constraints

●     Identify Make vs Buy opportunities, supporting development of business justifications when required

Cost Management:

●     Manage all new Model Programme introduction of designated commodity/system. Lead timely and accurate completion of purchasing deliverables in line with JLR’s Product Creation Delivery System (PCDS) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) deliverables for designated commodities, including contracted supplier obligations, production readiness and resolution of any commercial and/or programme issues/risks, being responsible for robust delivery to target cost for the FSR (Final Status Review) gateway.

●     Post FSR ensuring effective cost management of designated commodities and suppliers. Driving continuous improvement to support QCDIS (Quality, Delivery, Cost Innovation, Sustainability), change management and achievement of year-on-year cost reduction on current spend to deliver annual cost targets.

●     Lead stakeholder alignment in relation to; model year programme change management, red book, take rates capacity and volumes, delivery buying teams and utilising specialists as required cross architecture, carlines.

●     Supplier Relationship Management :

●     Lead Supplier Business Reviews to develop supplier relationships in accordance with the supplier segmentation model.

●     Ensure supplier briefing templates are kept up-to-date to enable senior stakeholder briefings

●     Working with the wider procurement teams, lead the development of the supplier relationships globally for your designated lead suppliers.

Other :

●     Ensure compliance to the JLR Way and maintain the Procurement systems to ensure data integrity and therefore system performance.

●     Manage Supplier, and Supply Chain Risk Management for assigned commodities, ensuring the supply chain operates in accordance with JLRQ (or equivalent), customer and governmental regulations.

●     Participate in Global functional improvement projects, process improvements and activities as required.

●     Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

Essential

Degree qualified or equivalent experience

This role is also a pivotal role for interface with other key functions within Jaguar Land Rover and acts as a core conduit for true cross functional working across Production Purchasing, Material Planning and Logistics (MP&L), Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), Product Engineering, Cost Engineering and Manufacturing.
