Charging HW Electrical Lead Engineer

is as a Charging HW Electrical engineer based in China Electrification team working with UK electronical relevant design and release team as part of the overall propulsion electrified engineering group. Reporting to the Electrification Group Leader, you will be part of the team design of the next generation DCDCs and On-Board Charger. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities • Technically lead the design, development & review of charging communication interface and circuit • Identify advanced engineering

and projects to support ongoing power electronics strategy • Develop and optimise the hardware D&D engineering processes • Ensure all appropriate JLR standards are met through-out design maturation. • Ensure coordination and alignment of key requirement stakeholders, such as internal subject matter experts, core engineers and internal customers is also critical to ensure a robust integration of our designs. • Responsible for planning and executing any HW design reviews and testing in alignment to key project milestone points, especially with external project relevant suppliers. • Support the Design and Release of multiple parts across various unit and program programmes. • Develop a Statement of Requirements to support supplier sourcing and work with the matched pair through the GSP process. • Lead issue resolution (AIMS) and support Change Management (iCreate), processes to ensure that all changes are implemented robustly and support programme objectives. • Drive the resolution of cross functional technical / manufacturing issues using a Global 8D process. • Lead suppliers through design phase, procurement of prototypes, production tooling and ensure components perform to requirements. • Supplier onsite visit, technical support, audit supplier processes, facilities, evaluate supplier capabilities. Knowledge, Skills and Experience We’re keen to talk to people with the following skills and experience: • Degree level qualification in electrical/electronic engineering. • Strong understanding of automotive electronics: Knowledge of vehicle networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet), automotive-specific components, and design considerations for harsh environments. Also other communication protocols like SPI. I2C, UART. • Proficiency in hardware design tools: Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout software (e.g., Altium, Mentor Graphics, Cadence). Simulation tools like LT spice , P-spice, PSIM etc. • Knowledge of electronic components and circuits: Understanding of digital and analog circuit design, power electronics, and signal integrity, Op-Amps, Buck convertors , Flyback convertors. 8 bit 16 bit and 32 bit microcontrollers. • Experience with testing and validation methodologies: Familiarity with various testing techniques, including functional testing, EMC testing, and environmental testing. • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills: Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot hardware-related issues. • Strong communication and teamwork skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical information clearly. The following skills and experience are a bonus: • Working with functional safety requirements • Experience in the automotive industry especially electrified powertrain with knowledge of charging protocols.
