CPU Performance Modeling Engineer

Develop and maintain high-fidelity CPU or NoC performance models using C++, Python, or SystemC. Porting benchmarks or workload to performance model for simulation and get performance data. Deliver performance data to designer based on performance model for microarchitecture optimization and performance, power, and area (PPA) trade off. Develop micro-benchmarks to validate the accuracy of performance model. Validate performance models against RTL implementations and try to find out RTL performance bugs. Identify performance bottlenecks and propose microarchitectural improvements. Develop and automate performance analysis and regression scripts. Document findings and present recommendations to stakeholders. Skills and Experience: Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. 3+ years in CPU performance modeling, microarchitecture, or computer architecture research. Familiarity with at least one CPU ISA, ARM,RISC-V,X86,etc. Strong background in performance simulation (e.g., Gem5, SST, or proprietary models). Proficiency in C++/Python/SystemC for modeling and data analysis. Deep understanding of CPU microarchitecture, such as fetch, instruction issue and execution, caching, branch prediction, and memory systems. Familiarity with the mainstream CPU or MCU benchmarks and workloads. Experience with AMBA protocols(AXI/ACE) is a plus. Familiarity with RTL design (Verilog/System Verilog) is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
