Creator Partnerships & IP Scouting

About the Role The next great IP may not look like a hit—yet. It could be a recurring character in an illustrator’s work, a story quietly finding its audience on social media, or an entirely new world created with AI on platforms. We’re looking for someone who can spot these creators and ideas early, see their potential to grow into lasting IP, and build the right partnerships to help them move forward. We expect that you have a strong instinct for content, aesthetics, and emerging youth culture. Just as importantly, you should know how to earn creators’ trust, structure thoughtful partnerships, and create room for their work to develop creatively and commercially. What You’ll Do Discover promising creators and original IP Identify emerging creators, characters, stories, and visual concepts across China and international markets. Stay close to social platforms, creator communities, independent studios, artists, and new cultural trends. Scout promising creators within Meitu’s own ecosystem, including RoboNeo and MVLand, with a focus on distinctive creative voices, recurring characters, and early audience signals. Build and maintain a pipeline of creators and potential IP, tracking their creative output, audience response, character recognition, and potential for long-term development. Work with IP producers, content teams, and product teams to distinguish short-lived trends from ideas worth investing in. Build partnerships and bring them to life Reach out to creators, artists, studios, rights holders, and other potential partners, building relationships that can grow over time. Design partnership models suited to different creators and projects, including content collaborations, joint IP incubation, exclusive representation, and licensing. Lead partnership discussions and commercial negotiations, working with legal and other internal teams to define rights, scope, term, revenue sharing, and future development opportunities. Continue managing creator relationships after signing, keeping both sides aligned as projects move into content development, distribution, and commercialization. Contribute to early-stage IP development Work with IP producers to understand each creator’s body of work, signature style, characters, existing stories, and potential audience. Help creators navigate Meitu’s product ecosystem, creative opportunities, and market feedback. Identify how promising creators and IP could resonate across different platforms, cultures, and markets.

Experience in creator partnerships, content platforms, talent or artist representation, copyright and licensing, gaming, animation, entertainment, or a related field. A genuine understanding of creators. You look beyond follower counts and can assess creative voice, aesthetic judgment, consistency, ambition, and long-term potential. Strong instincts for characters, storytelling, visual culture, internet communities, and what younger audiences care about. The ability to discover opportunities proactively, build trust with different types of creators, and turn an initial conversation into a meaningful partnership. Sound commercial judgment and a working understanding of copyright, licensing, partnership structures, and revenue sharing. Curiosity about AI-generated content, visual AI, and new forms of creative expression. Comfort working in an early-stage business where you will need to find leads, contact creators, shape proposals, and push projects forward yourself. The ability to work in both Chinese and English is a plus, particularly if you can independently build relationships with international creators. Nice to Have A track record of discovering or signing emerging creators, original characters, or content projects before they became widely known. Familiarity with creator ecosystems on TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Roblox, Bilibili, Xiaohongshu, or similar platforms. Existing networks in illustration, animation, gaming, designer toys, music, short-form video, or AI creation.
