Aerodynamics Engineering Intern

The China Aerodynamics team owns vehicle aero performance from new vehicle program until we launch the vehicle to markets. The intern will help prepare option content and fine-tune A-surface to improve vehicle aerodynamics performance. This is production-critical work on a short clock

You will sit with the aero engineers, take real option packages, and push them through CAD, CFD, and wind-tunnel prep. Quality and speed both matter.

What you’ll do

Create and revise vehicle A-surface in CATIA for aero options and detail-surface fine-tuning

Support aero improvement studies: compare options, document deltas, and help lock a recommended package for wind-tunnel

Build and run CFD cases to screen options before the tunnel

Support wind-tunnel preparation: geometry checks, option lists, data reduction, and post-test documentation

Present findings clearly so the team can decide under schedule pressure

Keep CAD, CFD, and test notes current so the next person can pick up without delay

Currently enrolled in Mechanical, Aerospace, Vehicle, or a related Engineering program

CATIA for 3D surface / A-surface work is mandatory. You must be able to build, modify, and check Class-A or near-Class-A geometry with little ramp-up

Comfort working under pressure and to a tight timeline. Option freeze and tunnel dates will not move for incomplete CAD

Ability to turn a technical comment into a clean surface change the same day, not the next week

Clear communication in Chinese; English sufficient to read US aero notes and write short technical summaries

Curious, detail-oriented, and willing to own mistakes and fix them fast

Preferred

CFD experience, ideally STAR-CCM+

Prior wind-tunnel, motorsport, or vehicle aero project

Scripting (Python or similar) to speed CAD/CFD/data work
