About Financial Services Risk and Regulatory Consulting We support clients in identifying, understanding and managing risk and help ensuring an appropriate balance between risks and opportunities. Also, we assist businesses in implementing, revamping, automating reporting, governance and compliance to ensure they operate within the boundaries of relevant legislation and regulations. We bring in-depth knowledge in the following fields: Risk and regulatory consulting services for Financial Services clients, insurance or reinsurance clients Financial risk management: credit/ market/ counterparty credit risk models and valuation models for financial instruments. Advice on policies, procedures, internal controls and organization structures that support effective risk management, regulatory compliance and corporate governance. Develop, implement, and maintain an effective Anti-Money Laundering and Financial Crime Compliance (AML/ FCC) programme, ensuring financial institutions’ adherence to applicable regulatory

and internal policies. Support clients in AML related policies and procedures review and in preparing the design of controls and processes including client and institutional risk assessments, transaction monitoring and customer due diligence processes to mitigate money laundering and financial crime risks and ensure regulatory compliance. Strategic solutions in a wide variety of areas, e.g. valuation and financial reporting, asset liability management, capital, investment, risk, reinsurance, etc. Digital transformation and process improvement using new technologies About The Internship The Experience As a Financial Services Risk & Regulatory Consulting Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on projects that leverage your quantitative degree and expertise. You will find yourself working with household Financial Services Institutions or reinsurance companies to help them more confidently make decisions to drive performance. You will gain valuable hands-on experience working alongside leading professionals and build capabilities in Risk or Regulatory Consulting early in your career. Your focus and everyday project experience may include: Support client teams in understanding and quantifying risk exposures, evaluating risk strategies, building and maintaining risk models focusing on credit risk, liquidity risk, and market risk. Assist in research and documentation for regulator-driven and self-initiated reviews commissioned by financial institutions (e.g., banks, securities brokers) to enhance their business arrangements, processes, and controls. Support financial institutions in launching new products and services and obtaining the relevant licenses from regulators (e.g., Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Securities and Futures Commission, etc.) to conduct business in Hong Kong. Support project teams in modelling tasks related to the valuation of derivatives (fixed income, equity, and other complex financial instruments), and statistical projection and analyses (e.g., time series, survival analysis, etc.) Assist in the implementation of new regulatory reporting bases e.g., GIECA, IFRS 9, US GAAP LDTI, etc. across APAC jurisdictions. Support client engagements by reviewing and developing internal policies, conducting process revamps and providing proactive recommendations to mitigate and manage enterprise risks. Build in-depth knowledge of the financial market and products, and develop strategic thinking to understand the value generators, business growth drivers, key performance indicators and more. Requirements Penultimate-year students, preferably majoring in Risk Management, Quantitative Finance, Statistics, Financial Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Financial Mathematics, Accounting, Law and Finance Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities Intellectual rigour, flexibility, and agility Good team player who enjoys working collaboratively with people from a variety of backgrounds Knowledge of financial modelling, analytics, and quantitative techniques Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access Practical experiences in using statistical software (e.g., SAS, R) and programming languages (e.g., VBA, MatLab) Fluency in English is required; Cantonese and Mandarin are a plus If you wish to apply for this position, please access our online application system to submit your application.
