As Hood Development senior Lead Engineer - within the body and exterior team, you will drive complete hood development, cross-domain coordination, team management, and ensure delivery of engineering. You will balance the hood

and solutions from among others: Styling, Pedestrian Safety, Aerodynamics, Thermal Management, NVH, Attribute Leaders, and Manufacturing to an agreed and well-functioning hood. This is a very important and central role in our department process. This balancing is the base for all further development work. The role includes also to propose or design own suggestions and design solutions on existing platform architecture, working on hood development with Tophat Block Leaders and BIW engineering for complete vehicle, with data for reporting in the various decision-making forums. In time, we also think that you should try on other closure areas in the car to get even wider knowledge. Good communication skills are required in this cross-functional role and you will build and maintain an extensive network throughout the company. In summary, as Hood Development senior Lead Engineer, you are the technical leader of the hood development to drive complete hood development from early concept phase to series production across the full program lifecycle, providing a development path toward the project chief engineer role. • Deliver the overall hood development plan and own the outcome. As the technical leader of the project’s hood development, lead the decision-making on hood architecture, styling feasibility, hinge and latch strategies, and closure concept, output the overall hood development plan and be responsible for the results. • Coordinate the hood development team and collaboration with various teams such as BIW engineering, stamping, pedestrian safety, aerodynamics, thermal management and NVH, as well as production and manufacturing fields. Lead cross-functional technical reviews and resolve integration conflicts to ensure feasibility across geometry, pedestrian protection, and assembly. • Lead the hood development team, be responsible for task division, technical review, and problem escalation. • Drive on-site hood problem-solving during prototype build and lead hood-related issue resolution during production ramp-up, tracking through to closure at SOP (Start of Production). • Drive hood development activities end-to-end: concept-phase section planning and styling feasibility, engineering-phase detailed design of outer and inner panels, hinges, latch and struts, prototype/test issue rectification, and production-phase dimension chain release. Own the cadence of deliverables across all phases. • Report to the Hood Development UPL, take ownership of technical decision implementation, and partner with the Chief Engineer on technology planning, process optimization, and hood technology accumulation. What you’ll bring • Technical education (BSc/BEng or equivalent) • 5+ years of body or closure development experience, with at least one full-cycle SOP vehicle program (Concept → Engineering → Prototype Build → Testing → Series Production) served as the closure or hood development lead. • Proficient in CATIA V5; familiar with Teamcenter Engineering, Vis Mockup, and other PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and visualization collaboration tools; capable of DMU (Digital Mock-Up) verification. • Solid knowledge of body-in-white, sheet metal design, hinges, latches and closure mechanisms; familiar with stamping feasibility, hemming and pedestrian protection requirements. • Hands-on body or closure development experience on a BEV platform or an HEV/PHEV platform (experience on both is preferred). • Fluent in English written and spoken. • Analytical and structured. • Great communication skills and ability and confident to speak in front of larger groups. • Technical- as well as leadership skills. • Driven and self-managed, while being a good team leader. • Positive and open-minded.
