Manager, Sr. Researcher, Agentic AI Security - AI for Security Team

Lenovo Digital Trust Lab is hiring a Manager, Sr. Researcher, Agentic AI Security to lead and grow the team building AI-powered security agents. You will own the team’s mission, people, and delivery — hiring and developing engineers and researchers, setting the research agenda, and partnering with technical leadership to turn ambitious security problems into shipped, production-grade agents. You set the conditions for the team to do its best work and are accountable for the impact, quality, and pace of what it delivers. Candidate must be willing to work 3 days onsite in our Tel-Aviv, Israel office. Job Responsibilities: • Build and lead the team — hire, develop, and retain engineers and researchers; set clear goals, growth paths, and performance expectations, and create the conditions for great work — remove blockers, manage cross-team dependencies, and protect the team’s focus and momentum. • Own the team’s roadmap and delivery — translate org priorities into a focused research and engineering agenda, and ensure agents ship to production with quality and at a healthy pace. • Partner with Staff and senior engineers on technical direction — support the architectural and evaluation decisions that shape the platform while owning execution, prioritization, and headcount. • Set the bar for research and engineering rigor — evaluation discipline, safety, reliability, and reproducibility across the team’s agents. • Partner with detection, AppSec, IR, and platform leadership to identify the highest-leverage opportunities and align on priorities, represent the team to senior leadership and stakeholders — communicate strategy, progress, risks, and resourcing needs clearly, and stay close to the field — track frontier model releases and emerging techniques, and shape how the team turns what is relevant into concrete bets. Minimum

• BSc in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience. • 4+ years managing engineers or researchers, or extensive tech-lead experience and a clear readiness to step into people management. • 4+ years of software development experience, with a track record of delivering production systems or research outcomes in a team setting. • Strong communication and stakeholder management, with the ability to set direction and drive alignment across teams. • Security Engineering — solid foundations in: • Vulnerability research and exploitation techniques across modern web apps, APIs, and enterprise systems; threat modeling and reasoning about attack paths, exposure chains, and business-logic flaws; security best practices across modern on-prem, cloud, and SaaS environments. • AI / Agent Engineering — working knowledge of: • Autonomous AI agents (planning, tool use, multi-step reasoning, error recovery) and how they are built and operated in production; working with frontier reasoning models and integrating them with offensive/defensive tools; and agent orchestration frameworks (LangChain, CrewAI, or custom planners/executors). • Prompting, retrieval (RAG), context engineering, and grounding techniques; the agentic harness ecosystem — MCP (Model Context Protocol), tooling, memory systems, skills, and related patterns for extending agent capabilities; and evaluation and harness engineering for non-deterministic systems — datasets, benchmarks, regression suites, and observability — and why evals are a first-class engineering discipline. Advanced Requirements: • Mapping technical findings to real-world risk and remediation. • Experience with AI-powered coding/agent workflows (Claude, Cursor, and similar). • Experience scaling a research or engineering team and building hiring pipelines. • Advanced degree (M.Sc / Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
