Regional Compliance Leader - China

• Ensure Group compliance policies, standards and processes are effectively implemented in China, adapting their application as needed to comply with local laws and regulations in close collaboration with Legal and Human Resources. • Lead the local compliance risk assessment process: identify, assess and mitigate compliance risks in alignment with the Group framework, and define, assign, deploy and monitor the related action plans. • Manage compliance process-related requests, including Gifts & Hospitality, Conflicts of Interest and third-party screening flags, and monitor the effectiveness of these processes. • Ensure an appropriate China Compliance Committee or equivalent governance forum is in place to review the compliance strategy, monitor key risks and action plans, and facilitate cross-functional collaboration with local leadership. • Manage the end-to-end process related to the Schneider Electric whistleblowing system in China, in collaboration with the Group Operational Compliance Committee, Fraud Examination Team, HR Investigators and Legal team. • Design and deliver training and awareness activities on the Group Compliance Program, Code of Business Conduct, anti-corruption, anti-commercial bribery, conflicts of interest and other relevant compliance topics. • Promote a culture of integrity through targeted communications, leadership engagement and local compliance campaigns. • Serve as a trusted advisor to China leadership, business and function leaders, providing practical guidance on the interpretation and application of Group compliance policies and local regulatory

. • Proactively monitor relevant legislative and regulatory developments in China, assess their impact on internal policies and processes, and recommend adjustments or action plans, including proposals to the Group compliance program team. • Collaborate closely with Business Unit Compliance, Legal, Human Resources, Finance & Control, Internal Audit and other relevant stakeholders to anticipate, identify and address compliance issues and implement corrective actions. • Support internal and external audits and follow up on relevant remediation actions. • Build, coordinate and engage the local Ethics Delegates network and the local network of HR investigators, with support from the HR Compliance team. • Liaise with relevant regulatory authorities and participate in external compliance and professional networks where appropriate. Experience and education • At least 8 years of relevant experience in Ethics & Compliance, legal, audit, risk management, internal control or a related field, preferably within a large multinational company. • Demonstrated experience handling compliance matters such as anti-corruption and anti-bribery, fraud prevention, ethics, whistleblowing investigations and relevant HR-related matters. • Strong understanding of the legal and regulatory environment in China and the ability to translate requirements into practical business guidance and controls. • Highest standards of integrity, independence and sound judgement. • Ability to establish credibility and trusted relationships with senior leaders and C-level stakeholders. • Ability to operate effectively in challenging or sensitive situations, demonstrating resilience, courage and confidence when addressing opposing viewpoints. • Excellent communication, drafting, analytical and presentation skills, with the ability to distil complex information into clear and practical guidance. • Strong influencing and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to influence without formal authority in a matrix organisation. • Risk-based mindset, attention to detail and ability to understand the broader business context. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously, work independently and collaborate effectively across functions and cultures. • Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English, both written and spoken. • Willingness and ability to travel within China when required. • Interest in digitalisation, data analytics and emerging technologies is an advantage.
