Software Engineering Team Lead

Who we are: Bloomberg Real-Time Data powers the global flow of market information. We are uniquely positioned to build high scale distributed systems and infrastructure, as well as cutting edge, client facing solutions. Our platform enables the seamless publishing and consumption of data in real-time, processing over 7 trillion updates and 6 billion requests every day. We design and operate highly available, scalable systems that ingest, process, and deliver data to clients around the world with unmatched reliability and speed. Our suite of products includes the BLPAPI SDK, real-time data insight systems, data permissioning systems, and a range of real-time data publishing solutions that form the backbone of Bloomberg’s data distribution ecosystem. Our team: The Impact Insights team is part of the Insight Systems group — a cross-functional organization focused on transforming observability into actionable intelligence across Bloomberg’s real-time data platform. Our goal is to ensure that every real-time enterprise data service is understood and improved using insights that reflect client expectations for quality and experience. Impact Insights plays a critical role in that mission. The team focuses on understanding how anomalies propagate through Bloomberg’s market data pipeline and quantifying their downstream impact — across services, instruments, and clients. We develop systems that pinpoint root causes, calculate blast radii, and enrich incidents with high-quality diagnostic and impact information. We work closely with engineering, support, and product teams to reduce time-to-detect, investigate, and resolve — while improving our ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders. Team will be responsible for building: Real-time data lineage and topology graphs Intelligent, agentic workflows to automate incident enrichment Integrated views that connect metadata, system behavior, and client impact What’s in it for you: Build and lead a new engineering team focused on a highly visible, high-leverage problem space in our fast-growing office in Frankfurt.
