Job Responsibilities Participate in the development of embedded product software for Cummins products, including software

analysis, design, coding, testing, integration, and release. Collaborate with product, systems, and software teams to understand stakeholder requirements and translate them into software specifications and technical solutions. Develop and maintain embedded software features, components, and applications using industry-standard software engineering practices. Perform software design, implementation, debugging, code review, and unit testing to ensure software quality and reliability. Support software integration, verification, validation, and system testing activities throughout the product development lifecycle. Investigate software-related issues, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and document problem-solving results. Apply modeling, simulation, and analysis methods to support software functionality, system performance, and product optimization. Utilize software development, static analysis, integration, compilation, and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing tools to support software development and validation. Participate in software architecture discussions, requirement reviews, design reviews, and cross-functional technical collaboration activities. Support product verification and validation activities through test planning, result analysis, risk assessment, and technical documentation. Prepare and maintain software design documents, test reports, release documentation, and other engineering records. Solid foundation in software engineering, data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and embedded systems. Proficiency in C/C++ programming and debugging. Familiarity with embedded software development processes, software architecture, software testing, and software lifecycle management. Understanding of real-time systems, communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet), and embedded hardware-software interaction is preferred. Experience with software development tools, version control systems, static analysis tools, debuggers, build tools, or test automation tools. Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink, Python, AUTOSAR, HIL, SIL, or model-based development tools is a plus. Experience gained through internships, software projects, research programs, programming competitions, laboratories, or extracurricular engineering activities is preferred. Strong analytical thinking, systems thinking, and structured problem-solving skills. Good communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and global environment. Passion for embedded software, intelligent control systems, and automotive technologies. Good English reading, writing, and communication skills.
