owns system-level integration activities, ensuring alignment between battery system architecture, vehicle

and cross-functional engineering deliverables. Working across battery hardware, BMS, thermal management, charging, power electronics and vehicle engineering teams, the engineer will drive the successful integration of battery system technologies to achieve programme targets for performance, safety, quality, cost and timing. The position acts as the primary technical integration point for the energy platform and supports the development of future energy plat system architectures and technologies. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities System Integration Leadership • Lead end-to-end energy platform system (HV Battery + OBC/DCDC) integration activities across vehicle programmes. • Own the coordination of technical deliverables across energy platform engineering disciplines. • Ensure system requirements are consistently cascaded and implemented across all subsystem areas. • Lead development and maintenance of battery system architecture documentation. • Coordinate integration of Battery HW and SW. • Support future energy platform and battery architecture strategy activities. • Manage technical dependencies between energy platform components and vehicle functions. • Support gateway reviews and programme milestone readiness. • Support resolution of cross-functional technical conflicts and integration challenges. • Drive timely closure of open technical issues. Requirements Management • Manage system-level requirements and technical targets. • Define requirements allocation across subsystem owners. • Ensure traceability from vehicle-level requirements through to component implementation. • Identify and manage technical risks, assumptions and dependencies. • Support change management activities throughout programme development. • Drive issue resolution using structured engineering methodologies. • Monitor technical maturity throughout programme execution. • Ensure lessons learned are captured and incorporated into future developments. Supplier and Partner Engagement • Support technical reviews with suppliers and development partners. • Ensure supplier deliverables align with system integration requirements. • Participate in architecture reviews and technology assessments. • Support sourcing decisions through technical evaluation activities. Key Interactions Cross-Functional Communication within JLR: o HV battery lead engineer o HV-LV DCDC Lead engineer o Battery Ageing Modelling Team o Power pack team o Vehicle Thermal Management Team o HV Power supply system team o Program Team Knowledge, Skills and Experience We’re keen to talk to people with the following skills and experience: • Experience of high voltage battery and charging systems, have developed product into mass production • Experience of powertrain system performance simulation via Simulink/CarSim etc • Familiar with different electrified powertrain system architecture (PHEV, REEV, BEV) • Understanding of typical battery characteristics - electrical configuration, ageing, cooling and heating requirements. • Aware of Charging standard and interface requirement for Global Market (GB/T, CCS, NACS, CHAdeMO) • Good relevant experience of working in a Systems Engineering environment - ideally within the Automotive Sector • Strong experience of functional system design, and the application of systems engineering principles. • Awareness of full V-cycle of system development and testing. • Strong people skills and the ability to work individually and in a cross functional team • Excellent communication and presentation skills. • Working Knowledge of Problem Resolution Techniques e.g. 8D • Degree in relevant discipline or 5years experience in role • Strong spoken and written English skills The following skills and experience are a bonus: • Experience in applying Systems Engineering and in solving complex technical issues using a structured approach • Knowledge of Agile working methods.
