Innovative HV Battery Thermal Senior engineer/高压电池热管理高级工程师

is to lead the JLR China Battery pack delivery related subjects for next generation batteries of JLR electrified vehicles. The HV battery team is responsible for the delivery of whole battery system including cell, battery frame, thermal system and BMS by collaborating closely with suppliers. The role as a HV battery Thermal Engineer based in China Electrification team is working as part of the overall propulsion electrified engineering group. Reporting to the Electrification Group Leader, you will be part of the team responsible for the delivery of next generation HV battery pack. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities • Support the design, simulation, and validation of battery pack thermal management systems, including cooling, heating, and thermal insulation solutions. • Participate in

analysis, solution development, component selection, and integration design of battery systems. • Responsible for battery thermal components delivery with supplier. • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and control teams to ensure thermal system design meets vehicle or system-level requirements. • Support RFQ requirement development and ensure all appropriate JLR standards are met through-out design maturation. • Support the development of Battery Frame DFMEA, Specification of SCSS to internal and external stakeholders. • Support all right design documents (3D, drawing, SCSS, STJLRs, TPJLRs, and etc…) are correctly cascaded to suppliers. • Creation of EBER documentation for each gateway – Engineering Based Evidence Review. • Maintaining eAPQP if required. • Lead suppliers through design phase, procurement of prototypes, production tooling and ensure components perform to requirements. • Ensure robust timing plans are in place that achieves Program milestones and targets (Quality, Cost, Functionality, Weight, and timing). • Supplier onsite visit, technical support, audit supplier processes, facilities, evaluate supplier capabilities. • Lead issue resolution with cross functional team, including AIMS, FMEA, 8D. • Working with the Procurement Team to explore the supplier base and new battery technology, identify potential alternative suppliers for our future program. Key Interactions Cross-Functional Communication within JLR: o Project Manager o Battery Pack Design Team (Cell, Mechanical, BMS) o Battery and Cell Validation Team (DV/PV/Certification) o Vehicle Packaging and Structural Engineering Team o Purchasing Team o Cost Engineering Team o Program Team Knowledge, Skills and Experience We’re keen to talk to people with the following skills and experience: • Experience of high voltage battery systems, have developed product into mass production • Experience of complex battery packaging and thermal solutions, such as cooling, heating, thermal propagation. • Experience of typical manufacturing solutions such as bending, stamping, FSW, FDS, extrusion and implications of manufacturing process on design. • Experience of defining and/or using appropriate thermal analysis tools to optimise and verify heat transfer, cooling performance, and thermal safety, such that you can define the required thermal design and validation approach. • Understanding of typical battery characteristics - cell types, electrical configuration, cell mounting limitations, cooling and heating requirements, venting. • Understanding of regulatory needs applicable to xHEV solutions. • A working knowledge of the design and release process. • Strong people skills and the ability to work individually and in a cross functional team • Excellent communication and presentation skills. • Experience of Change Management • Working Knowledge of Problem Resolution Techniques e.g. 8D • Experience of product development; Familiar with APQP and PCDS for product development process to support programme delivery • Experience of design FMEA’s • Degree in relevant discipline or 3 years’ experience in role • Strong spoken and written English skills The following skills and experience are a bonus: • Experience working with teams globally. • Knowledge of Agile working methods.
