General Description: About BeOne and BeOne Institute Over the past decade BeOne has grown exponentially and become an industry leader with a robust drug pipeline combined with strong production capacity. In addition, as an emerging industry leader with over 7000 employees globally, BeOne has built a world-class clinical development team and a leading commercial team to bring accessible and affordable medicines to patients around the world. As part of its ongoing efforts to drive the development of truly innovative and transformative medicines, BeOne is creating a brand-new research institution in Shanghai, China, BeOne Institute. Our goal is to establish a cross-disciplinary research organization where cutting-edge science and technology drive the discovery of impactful Insights into human health and disease. BeOne Institute functions as an independent research entity within BeOne to enable sustainable scientific discoveries and innovation. Why BeOne Institute  BeOne Institute is a diverse and inclusive community where scientists will bring their expertise, creativity, and originality to a group of dynamic colleagues and collaborators.  BeOne Institute is structured with groups with specific research focuses. Individual group head leads a team staffed with postdocs and research associates. You will have a unique opportunity for career development in an environment that crosses between industry and academia.  Scientists will have access to state-of-the-art technologies to perform ground-breaking work to address fundamental biology and technology questions. We are well-supported to carry out independent research and pursue collaborations within and beyond BeOne.  Besides being encouraged to publish their research work, we are empowered to explore the translational potential of our own scientific discoveries and play an active role in our collective effort of discovering drug candidates and establishing biomarkers across major diseases, including cancer and inflammatory diseases.  We offer a highly competitive compensation package, and rank and salary commensurate with

. Join Dr. Wei Gu's Laboratory at the BeOne Institute We are seeking highly motivated, independent, and creative Research Investigators with expertise in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), mucosal immunology, gastrointestinal biology, and translational research to join Dr. Wei Gu's laboratory at the BeOne Institute. Dr. Wei Gu joined BeOne in November 2022 as Research Chief of the BeOne Institute. His research program focuses on advancing both fundamental and translational understanding of the phenotypic, metabolic, and functional dynamics of immune and stromal cells during disease progression and therapeutic intervention. A major focus of the laboratory is the integration of immunology, systems biology, bioinformatics, multi-omics technologies, and advanced human disease models to elucidate disease mechanisms and identify novel therapeutic opportunities for inflammatory bowel disease and immune-mediated inflammatory diseases. Through multidisciplinary approaches, the laboratory seeks to generate actionable insights that accelerate target discovery, biomarker development, and next-generation therapeutic innovation. ________________________________________ The successful candidate will: • Investigate the cellular and molecular mechanisms driving intestinal inflammation, mucosal injury, tissue remodeling, and disease progression in IBD. • Identify and validate novel therapeutic targets using translational and human disease-relevant approaches. • Apply multi-omics technologies, systems biology, and bioinformatics methodologies to uncover disease-driving pathways and biomarkers, in close collaboration with cross-functional informatics teams. • Develop and utilize innovative disease models, including organoids, organ-on-chip systems, and advanced multicellular platforms, to better understand disease pathogenesis and therapeutic response. • Explore the interactions among epithelial, stromal, and immune cells that shape intestinal tissue homeostasis and inflammatory disease states. • Contribute to the discovery and development of next-generation therapeutics for IBD and related immune-mediated diseases. Qualifications We are looking for candidates who: • Hold or be expected to obtain by July 2027, a Ph.D. in Immunology, Cell Biology, Gastrointestinal Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field. • Demonstrate a strong track record of scientific achievement, reflected by high-quality publications and innovative research contributions. • Possess expertise in one or more of the following areas: o Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) o Mucosal immunology o Gastrointestinal biology o Organoid and organ-on-chip technologies o Systems biology and multi-omics analysis • Have the ability to independently design and execute research projects while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams. • Exhibit strong scientific communication and problem-solving skills.
